Patchwork Baby Blanket

So here it is! One of the baby blankets I’ve been working on during pregnancy! Luckily I finished it in time – it is in daily use now. It has the perfect size and I am more than happy with how it turned out. I had a tough time making the fabric choice because nothing seemed to fit together – but in the end, it turned out as a modern, colorful, happy baby blanket. Lately at the pediatrician one of the doctor’s receptionists even asked me where I got this beautiful blanket! It’s always something different when a stranger likes what you did because although it is much more important that family and friends like what I do, they would never tell me that something I made by myself was totally ugly, even if it was. I guess. So I really enjoyed the comment about Lotta’s blanket by someone unfamiliar. I bought fabric like crazy for this blanket – every time I saw a beautiful fabric I told myself it would fit perfectly and bought …

How many…

…projects do you have going on at the same time? I’ve been thinking about the reason why it feels like I am always working on something, but never get anything finished. And I think the reason is that I am currently working on 7 projects, and none of them is a five minute project… Number one and two are some nursery art projects. Number three is…a little secret, because it’s a surprise for my boyfriend, and number four needs some more cans before being turned into a little shelf. Projects number 5 & 6 are two more baby blankets I’m working on, and project number 7 will hopefully become a trouser for little Miss P. – I restarted knitting this project about…6 times, and I already noticed that I made a mistake in this version again, so we will see if and when these trousers will get finished. Let’s have a great (and crafty) weekend, everybody!

20 Weeks

Today our sweet little baby is 20 weeks old. Full 20 weeks. I can hardly believe that I’m already halfway through this pregnancy. Times rushes by right now, I started to work again on Monday for four hours a day in the emergency room I worked in before to earn some money – because there’s something I already learned: there’s way too much super – duper cute baby stuff out there. And we, no, wait,  I can’t resist to buy something that’s particularly cute every now and then. But let’s go back to what I actually wanted to talk about: 20 weeks. We kind of „celebrated“ this milestone of pregnancy with some ice cream… …and a trip to one of my favorite baby stores to check out prams – again! What can I say – we, no, wait, I still can’t decide what’s more important: a pram which is modern, practical and functional but just not beautiful (to me) or a retro looking pram which is so, so beautiful but neither practical nor functional. While I am still struggling …
