Patchwork Baby Blanket

So here it is! One of the baby blankets I’ve been working on during pregnancy! Luckily I finished it in time – it is in daily use now. It has the perfect size and I am more than happy with how it turned out. I had a tough time making the fabric choice because nothing seemed to fit together – but in the end, it turned out as a modern, colorful, happy baby blanket. Lately at the pediatrician one of the doctor’s receptionists even asked me where I got this beautiful blanket! It’s always something different when a stranger likes what you did because although it is much more important that family and friends like what I do, they would never tell me that something I made by myself was totally ugly, even if it was. I guess. So I really enjoyed the comment about Lotta’s blanket by someone unfamiliar. I bought fabric like crazy for this blanket – every time I saw a beautiful fabric I told myself it would fit perfectly and bought …

How many…

…projects do you have going on at the same time? I’ve been thinking about the reason why it feels like I am always working on something, but never get anything finished. And I think the reason is that I am currently working on 7 projects, and none of them is a five minute project… Number one and two are some nursery art projects. Number three is…a little secret, because it’s a surprise for my boyfriend, and number four needs some more cans before being turned into a little shelf. Projects number 5 & 6 are two more baby blankets I’m working on, and project number 7 will hopefully become a trouser for little Miss P. – I restarted knitting this project about…6 times, and I already noticed that I made a mistake in this version again, so we will see if and when these trousers will get finished. Let’s have a great (and crafty) weekend, everybody!

Granny Square Baby Blanket

Guess what is said about Geminis? That they are enthusiastic about things really, really quickly, but that it’s difficult for them to stay excited with what they do. Because, hey, there’s another gorgeous project that must be started immediately and, oh, don’t forget the other thing I always wanted to do. Know what I mean? I don’t really believe in horoscopes – unless they say something good, of course – but this is exactly my problem. There are so many things that I really want to do, so many projects waiting in line, so many new things to try. And at the moment, my whole brain and heart and thinking (even my dreams) are focused on baby stuff. Because there are so many cute things to do for a little one… maybe it’s not a problem of people who are born as a Gemini, maybe it is just me. My volatile personality. And because of this little problem of mine I mentioned, I’m really proud of doing a great job at crocheting a little colorful …

It’s the little things

image source I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since I posted something. Time’s flying by at the moment. We’re busy working and preparing the flat for the baby – there’s really not much more at the moment. Besides meeting friends every now and then. Here are a couple of things that made me happy during the last two weeks: Receiving a wonderful package from Cate – we were partners in the Lovely Package Exchange, organized by oh hello friend. I plan to post more photos of all the gorgeous things and packaging soon, but unfortunately I have some trouble with iPhoto at the moment and I’m not quite sure when these problems will be fixed. Cold drinks in the sun (and on a warm evening after a sunny day). Our new pram: Frozen joghurt with fruits, mini marshmellows and rainbow sprinkles and… a rainbow. I started to work on two different baby blankets and it’s really fun to crochet these Granny Squares, I’ve never done that before, but I love it because of the huge …
