It’s the little things

I realized lately that I have a tendency to make everything bad bigger than it really is and forget about the beautiful and nice things that make me happy. So I planned to do a weekly post with little things that make me happy during daily life. Funnily, Lindsay of Hello Hue started a new  „It’s the little things“ blog party yesterday – and because this is exactly what I wanted to do, focus and concentrate on the little things that make you happy during a „normal day“, I decided to join this blog party because it’s even better to share the things that you’re happy about with other people. And I hope it’s not too bad that I’m one day late, the next blog party post will be right on time next friday! So here we go – what made me happy this week: Spending an evening with two of my closest friends, watching a football game and enjoying some beer (for me: non-alcoholic, of course). Strawberries. I can’t get enough of them! Starting to sew …

Birthday bits and pieces

Here are some pictures of my birthday weekend. As you can see in the very first picture, the sun came out for …at least for this picture. Funnily, I got up, looked at the clock in our bathroom and saw that it was exactly 09:06 am on the 9th of June. A petty good start into the day. It became even better when I received all these amazing cakes, flowers and presents and when my family arrived, of course. It’s so funny, I’m 27 now, a mother to be, but nevertheless, I’m still looking like a little girl, excited about all the presents, wondering what might be in that envelope I’m opening. These presents are just so perfect, I love the little Tea Party Kit, including delicious tea, heart shaped sugar, hot chocolate, butterfly shaped chocolate and much more. Combined with the book „The Vintage Tea Party“ it is screaming for a tea party with the girls somewhen in the near future. I want to say a big „thank you“ to everybody who celebrated and …

Special treat for friends

In the beginning of this blog, I mentioned that I wanted it to help me focus on creativity and making stuff, so here is something I actually made. As two really dear friends of mine went to the half-marathon in Portugal this year, I packed a little travel package for both of them. They were each a little different because unfortunately, one of them had an injury and could not participate in run. Because of that, I prepared a little travel journal for her as a little challenge for which she would get a medal for instead of her runners medal. I sewed some paper bags, labeled and filled them with some fun stuff that I prepared.  That’s what I filled the bags with: sweets, bath essence, a travel journal, a motivation banner and, of course, the medals.  The celebration bag was stuffed with balloons and glittering confetti.  These are the medals I made especially for the girls. They liked their little travel bags a lot, I had so much fun preparing them and it …

Picnic at the beach

A few weeks ago a couple of friends and I planned to go to the sea to have a little picnic at the shore because the weather was supposed to be warm and sunny. We all prepared a little something, met in the morning and drove one and a half hours to the sea. As we arrived, it was a bit windy so we thought: Let’s have a look how windy it is before we take our blankets and all the other stuff with us. So…we had a look and it wasn’t just windy – it was stormy! I checked it later that day and the internet said the wind force was about 39 km/h. That meant, we couldn’t have our picnic at the beach because actually every little grain of sand was blown away from where it was just the second before. We had a quick but really yummi wrap standing at the waterside before we fought three  quarters of an hour against the wind to get back to the car. The three of us …
